Monika Centrum Hotels - Riga

Upon entering our room, we discovered we had received 2 singles instead of a double as requested, after a quick call to reception we were transferred to a beautiful sweet as they had no spare double rooms. What excellent service! I could not recommend Monika Centrum any higher.

The location is a little far from the old city. Takes about 15 minutes if you cut through the park (Which I recommend as the walk is quite nice).

The building and suites have kept there original fitting wiht some of the most beautiful architcture in this area

The hotel property was wonderful with particularly good and unbeatable location next to the park that leads to the Old Town, Old Town and the centre. View of the park was pleasant, the room was reasonably large and brand-new. In general the service was friendly! They offered a bar in the lobby.

The room was very nice and the bath 'through the floor' heating system was awesome. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices in both food and beverages. Staff was really nice. Close to the old town - about 7 minutes of walk through a nice area full of embassies. I definitely recommend it.

The service at breakfast is sometimes too slow,when there're a lot of people coming at one time.The result is that sometimes there's a lack of eggs,meat vegetables and even bread.

Located in the attractive Art Nouveau area close to Old Town. Coupon for arrival drink. Single room was comfortable, large flat screen, good wi-fi....

The bathroom had an unusual odour, partly because of lack of ventilation.

The hotel was perfect for my husband and my needs. It had a very big room, lovely ambience, free internet connection and a very good location. We don't like big business hotels but small, boutique ones. The location was also perfect near a park and beautiful embassy buildings and close to the old town.

Very nice hotel. Personnel is very friendly. Location is almost perfect (10-15 minutes walk to old town, city park starts cross the road). Room is spacious and very good equipped with climate control, minibar and so on. Breakfast is almost amazing with very good choice of hot meals and national fish (herring). Wifi is free with very reasonable speed. Definitely will stay again here.

We are very unhappy with the hotel as of price to quality factor. We told management 4 months in advance that it is our honeymoon, but still got two single beds put together instead of one double bed. We consider that as a big failure especially due to the fact that we were really tiered after the wedding day.Plus we tried to talk to the staff to arrange a different room but they said the hotel is full. We considered leaving but at 12pm we were to tired to look for another hotel

Fine food combined with a great service. Good and comfortable location, next to an urban park.

The hotel's Art Nouveau architecture is amazing, with high ceilings in the lobby and elegant design that caters beautifully to seniors. I felt a sense of charm and history throughout my stay.

A quieter breakfast area would be appreciated.

I really liked the location. Monika Centrum was a short walk to the old part of town and it was in a street of beautiful renovated German art nouveau buildings that were a delight to look at. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and were able to help with most tourist questions such as the best way to get to different parts of the city as well as outside the city eg we went by train to Jurmala for the day after asking reception staff the best way to get there. The breakfast was very good and the dining area was very pleasant, clean and we enjoyed reading the philosophical quotes on the walls.

We were given a room with no windows. I was not aware of this when we booked and would have preferred to have known this so we could have changed our booking to a room with a view. The other thing I didn't like was the floor in the sauna area. It was very slippery and quite dangerous. It detracted from the experience of the sauna because walking from sauna to shower and back you had to be very careful not to slip over

Breakfast was excellent (quality and freshness of foodstuff).
